My mom and dad have a "order of protection" against my brother. Also he has been given 10 days to get all his personal belongings out of the house. There are two dates on this protection order, the date they went to court and then there is a filing date. Which date is it that is used to determine the amount of days that are left to get his belongings out of the house?? The court date or the filing date??
Which date is to be used on a legal document??
Filing date; always
Reply:It should be 10 days from the date of the order.
Reply:The court date because that was the date the action was decided by the judge. The filing date has nothing to do with court unless previously specified by the judge.
Reply:The court date will be the correct date to go by. I've been thru this with my ex.
