ok, ive been on dates before, but never a blind date where i had never met the person before. A guy i work with was telling me that he wanted me to meet this girl who he thought i would be interested in and vice versa and i said that i was up for it. Im getting her number on Monday and figured i would either call that night or tues night to get a feel for her. I dont know what she looks like and she doesnt know what i look like so i was thinking for our first meeting to keep it simple and short since we may not hit it off. I was thinking we could go to starbucks, even though i dont drink coffee and dont normally go to starbucks, so that we could talk for like an hour, and then if everything goes good have a second date which would include an actually dinner, and then move on from there. How does this sound, and does anyone have any other suggestions for a blind date. I thought about bowling or the zoo, but figured those were better suited for a second or third date
Blind date?
You're on the wrong track here, dude.
You are planning the date with the expectation that things are not going to go well and providing yourself an easy escape. There is no reason to take this route since if things really are going badly you can always end the date at any time and then never call her again.
My goal on a first date is always to secure a home-court advantage -- meaning that I take her someplace that I know well and feel the most comfortable. I happen to be a very good tennis player and I can't tell you how many successful first dates I've had on a tennis court. And the majority of the women had never played tennis before in their lives.
Plan the date with the positive in mind and secure a home-court advantage.
Additional note: A friend of mine that is a gun-enthusiast takes his first dates to a shooting range and he has been quite successful with that endeavor.
Reply:Why don't you try something like going to Barnes and Noble and they have a coffee shop in there and you can walk around and look at books and then if you want you can grab a beverage or a snack and have a chat, and take it form there.
Reply:well that sounds like a great plan. And you are definatly right about the zoo thing(thats kidish) bowling is fun tho-lol
i think that your idea sounds good.
Just stick with that.
Reply:Your plans sound great. A phone call prior to the initial date sounds like a great idea too, an ice breaker, so to speak. Good thinking!!! Have you thought of presenting her with a flower on your first date? I went on a blind date once %26amp; he gave me a single pink carnation, with babies breath, %26amp; greenery. (he knew a g/f of mine %26amp; asked her what my favorite flower was) I think that would be a nice gesture on your first date. All the best to you!
Darlene....Great idea!
Joanna....Lighten up!
Reply:youre dumb......why go on a blind date......thats just like the dumbest thing i have ever heard......get a life.......honestly.....*Rolls eyeballs*
