Did my date's friend decide if we went out again?

A customer where I work started flirting with me a few weeks back and after talking over a few weeks we went on a date a week ago. Things were going great with our conversation, he complimented me, sat next to me, made lots of eye contact, etc. All signs pointed to us having a great date. The thing is that our waiter just happened to be one of his friends. I felt like I was on display and my date left the table to talk to him once while ordering drinks from his friend/waiter. On our way out I stopped by the ladies room and came out to find the waiter and him talking.

Do you think my date was seeking his friends approval of me? If so, I guess his friend did not approve because the date ended shortly thereafter and I have not heard from him since other than a quick hello. He did suggest that I call him if I want to hang out but he did not call me back. I could tell that my date was into me but it seems pretty weak if he did not ask me out again based on his friend. Whats up?

Did my date's friend decide if we went out again?
I don't think there is any way of knowing whether your date was seeking his friends approval or not. They could have been talking about anything. Trying to work out what has happened, given the information you have is almost impossible.

Did he make deliberate contact with you to say the quick hello? If he did, I would call him and try for a second date, providing of course that you do like him. He may be thinking you aren't that much into him. Whatever you choose to do, I hope it goes well.
