Due date could be earlier??

hey- at my last ultrasound i was 20 weeks and the baby measured a week ahead of the due date. at my appointment yesterday my belly measures almost 2 full weeks ahead of the due date.


could my baby come earlier than my expected due date, because the due date is wrong?? could the due date be wrong?-- cuz that'd be real nice

Hey! My baby measured a week ahead too. I wouldn't give too much credit to that unless your doctor actually changes your due date. It probably means thought that you will deliver before your due date...YAY! =)
Reply:Basically, when a dr. gives you are due date they are going by your last period. Of course you can be due earlier than expected. It also depends on one's body as well. I have a cousin that is only able to hold her babies until 8 months, as I do. Yet there are several women that are able to hold the baby to 9 months, sometimes a bit longer. Don't be too concerned about being so big, Just try and eat healthy for your baby. Also, I've heard that when you are given a due date the baby can come 2 weeks before or after. Even if you are telling everyone at the end of October just remember, the baby can come 2 weeks before. :)
Reply:your due date could be wrong, the baby could just be a very big baby or you could have gestational diabetes which can cause very large babies. I am not sure when they check for that, but if it's already been done you might want to get it checked again just to be sure. I have a friend who came up negative on the test, and ended up gaining 150 lbs and had a huge, sick, little girl because she really had it.
Reply:it's possible. my first child came early. my midwife kept telling me i was farther along than i should be. some babies are fully developed and ready to come out before their due date.... wish you all the best
Reply:could be wrong due date or your baby could just really big some women have large baby's either way maybe they might induce labor if the baby keeps growing that way

Reply:The date the doctor and ultrasounds gave my husband and I were wrong and we know they were wrong since there was no possible way I got pregnant when u count back the weeks. The ultrasounds were 3 weeks off. I was given september 29th and october 5th as due dates when we figured it was october 20th. The baby could be big. I was huge this time last year and I only gained 23 pounds my entire pregnancy.

WHY? Because no one can predict exactly when a baby is coming.
