Why does windows not use the date configured in Date and Time settings....very weird....!?

We have set up a database system in Thailand but cannot get the date and time configured.

The date and time are correct when you double click on the time but when you mouseover it shows the date that the system really 'thinks' it is (2550?!)

No matter what we do to the date the internal date stays the same. I.e. all new files are given the 2550 date and if you do a Now() command it returns the 2550 date.

Has anyone seen anything like this?

You will probably need a patch from Microsoft. I couldn't find anything on their site though..
