Is wanting a date for Prom asking too much?

I haven't had a boyfriend or a date in over 17 years (I am 17, going on 18). The only thing I've ever wanted a date for is Prom; however, it looks as if that won't happen, either. I'm the thype of girl who is very old-fashioned and the guy MUST ask the girl out.

Most of my friends have dates, so going as a group of singles really isn't an option. One of my male friends said we could go as friends if neither one of us find dates, but I know he'll end up having a date for the Prom - he's one of the best looking guys in school and one of the nicest anyone would ever meet. So, yes. Odds are he will end upw ith a date and I'll be stuck going with no one.

How can I handle Prom Night without feeling left out? This is the biggest moment of my High School year and I don't want my senior prom to be a disaster.

Any advice?

Break your traditions and ask a guy. Don't you think that's just a little better than going stag with all your coupled friends? I'd say so. If you honestly can't break that stupid rule that a guy MUST ask you then prepare for a night of feeling left out. You can try all you want to talk with your friends but chances are they'll all be busy with their dates.
Reply:Just go and have fun!!!

You're going to forget about it in a month anyways.
